1. Comparison of temperature resistance between PP-R water pipe and PE water pipe

Under normal use conditions, the high stable temperature of the PE water pipe is 70℃, and the low temperature is -30℃. That is to say, in this temperature range, long-term use of PE water pipes is safe and reliable. In normal use, the high stable temperature of PP-R water pipe is 70℃, and the low temperature is -10℃, which also shows that it is safe and reliable to use PP-R water pipe for a long time in this temperature range. It is concluded that PE water pipe and PP-R water pipe have the same high temperature resistance. But the low temperature performance of PE water pipe is better than PP-R water pipe.

 

2. Difference between PE water pipe and PP-R water pipe in terms of sanitation

The main chemical molecular component of PE pipe is polyethylene. The composition of this product is the combination of two carbon atoms and 5 hydrogen atoms. One of the hydrogen atoms and carbon atoms is combined by a double bond, and then the single molecule of ethylene is polymerized in a certain way , Such products are polyethylene products. So what is the PP-R water pipe? The main component of the PP-R water pipe is propylene, that is, three carbon atoms are combined with seven hydrogen atoms, and there is also a double bond between a hydrogen atom and a carbon atom, and the product formed by polymerization is a polypropylene product. Such products are almost the same in terms of hygiene and safety. The important thing is whether the raw materials used by the company meet the requirements, rather than the difference between the two products. There is no basis for propagating that PE pipes are more hygienic than PP-R pipes in newspapers. All qualified PE water pipes and PP-R water pipe products must be sanitary inspection (except those fake and inferior products). To say that PE water pipes are more hygienic and safer than PP-R water pipes is also a deception to consumers.

 

3. Weldability

Although PP-R water pipes and PE water pipes can be welded by heat, PP-R water pipes are easier to operate, PP-R water pipes are rounded, and PE water pipes are irregular and easy to block; the welding temperature is also different, PP- The temperature of R water pipe is 260℃, and that of PE water pipe is 230℃. The PP-R water pipe special welding machine on the market is easy to over-welding and cause water leakage. In addition, because the PE water pipe material is easy to oxidize, special tools must be used to scrape off the surface oxide scale before welding, otherwise a true integrated pipeline cannot be formed, and the pipeline is prone to water leakage, so the construction is more troublesome.

 

4. Sizes

the size that can be made of PE pipe is dn1000, and the big size of PP-R is dn160. Therefore, PE pipes are used as drain pipes, and water supply pipes are generally PP-R.
