Disassembly method of single screw extruder screw

The plastic extruder is equipped with a barrel, in which screws are installed. There is a reduction gearbox at the rear of the barrel. and a screw sleeve is installed in the gearbox. The screw sleeve forms a hollow core hole, and the rear end section of the screw is installed in the core hole of the screw sleeve.

During the use of plastic extruders, it is often necessary to disassemble, clean, or replace the screws due to the replacement of raw materials with different colors and compositions. The screws need to be removed from the barrel, that is, extracted from the barrel. However, at the beginning of disassembly, due to the bonding of solidified plastic material between the screw and the inner wall of the barrel, a large external force is required to force the screw to move relatively axially. Only when the screw moves slightly axially for a distance can the bonding surface formed by the condensed plastic material be damaged and the adhesive force disappear, making the extraction action of the screw less laborious.

The following are the specific steps for disassembling the screw of a single screw extruder:

1. First, heat the residual materials inside the barrel to the required forming temperature;

2. After heating to the forming temperature, remove the machine head while it is hot;

3. Drain the residual materials inside the barrel as much as possible;

4. After discharging the materials inside the barrel, stop the machine and turn off the power;

5. Loosen the screw cooling device and take out the cooling water pipe;

6. Loosen the connection between the screw and the transmission shaft, and use a dedicated screw disassembly device to push out the screw from behind;
   

7. After the screw extends out of the barrel, use asbestos cloth or other gaskets to pad the screw, and then use a wire fly to cover the screw gasket, and then drag the screw out in the direction of the arrow. 

Use the method of pulling from the front and pushing from the back to extract the screw while it is hot. Of course, when the screw is pulled out to the root, use the steel ring on the other side to cover the screw and pull out all the screws.
