The difference between double wall corrugated pipe and hollow wall winding pipe

1. The production process is different

HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe adopts the extrusion process,corrugate outer and the smooth inner are simultaneously extruded by mechanical equipment,One-time extrusion processing.

The production process of HDPE hollow-wall winding pipe is to manufacture high-density polyethylene (HDPE) into a rectangular pipe first,then through the winding form machine to weld.

2. Different specifications

The production process of HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe is extrusion molding,the extrusion die of the mechanical equipment should be similar to the pipe diameter. Therefore, to production of large-diameter HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe requires the application of large mechanical equipment. The development cost for this type of machinery is very high. At this stage, the largest double-wall corrugated pipe that can be produced in China is DN1200.

The production process of HDPE hollow-wall wound pipe is not limited by the pipe diameter. Its unique forming process can produce large-diameter pipes up to DN3200.

3. Different connection methods

HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe is mainly used for socket connection, which can be sealed by rubber sealing ring. This type of interface is easy to install, and the installation cost is cheap.

HDPE hollow wall winding pipes are connected by hot-melt tape, and the joints need to be heated and welded. This interface method is relatively complicated, and the cost is higher than double-wall corrugated pipe.

4. Product cost and price are different

Because of the production process of HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe and HDPE hollow-wall winding pipe is different, the utilization rate of raw materials for the two is also different. To produce pipes with the same diameter and the same ring stiffness, HDPE hollow-wall winding pipes consume a lot of materials, and the product cost is higher, so the price is also higher.
